Earlier this year, my body completely crashed. Despite having a “healthy lifestyle” where I did yoga every single day and ate pretty healthfully, I woke up and could barely get out of bed. My muscles had started catabolizing, I was consistently gaining weight (despite attempts to eat healthier to remedy this), my legs began having circulation problems, and my energy was completely depleted. In a matter of weeks, I went from being able to manage my condition to completely crashing.
Earlier this year, my adrenal fatigue caused me to hit rock bottom. I went from being able to manage my extreme tiredness…to full on crashing. I had no choice but to stop everything and take care of myself. If you’re exhibiting signs of adrenal fatigue, don’t wait to crash like I did! It makes recovery much longer (and harder!). Regardless of what stage of adrenal fatigue you are in, these tips will help you heal more quickly.
I am so excited to write this review for Erin Stutland’s Shrink Session program. I first heard about Shrink Session in 2013 when one of my clients sent me her website. Erin describes Shrink session as “an alchemical mix of yoga, cardio-dance, kickboxing, life coaching, meditation, and inspiring affirmations that will open you heart, expand your mind, and tone and sculpt your body”. When I read the program description on her website, I thought it sounded so neat!!
I have a little confession to make: I am a huge fan of making quantum leaps. You know, when you have an a-ha moment that seems to shift you overnight and change seems soooo easy. Unfortunately, hoping for a quantum leap all the time hasn’t proved to be the best means to accomplish my goals (lol). So let me share with you what has been. While it may seem to be quite a bit less sexier than quantum leaping…it’s sustainable and maintainable and a process you can count on.
Losing your first 10 pounds is a huge step when it comes to reaching your goal weight. Why? When done correctly, it builds momentum on your weight loss journey and creates confidence that you can reach your goal weight (which can be hard to do if you’ve repeatedly failed at losing weight like me).
Here are my five steps that will help you lose your first 10 pounds and set the permanent foundation to your weight loss success:
Step 1: Overcome Diet Procrastination
The first thing you must do is stop starting over!
Have you ever tried to overhaul your diet over night? You know..go from eating out 10 times a week to trying to eat salads for every meal (maybe not that dramatic..but you get my point)? This was a common practice for me prior to losing weight, I tried to dramatically and drastically shift my diet over night. And…it never worked (of course) and always ended in a binge.
Through that experience, I learned what actually works when it comes to eating healthy.
