Do you ever feel like you are so far from the person you know that you are capable of being? For the longest time, that was the way I felt…even when I was doing everything I could to “be a better person”. If you relate, you are really going to appreciate this article.

I can remember, back when I was perpetually dieting, I would tell myself I was going to completely overhaul my diet on Monday,

Earlier this year, I was stuck in a rut in a major way. I felt like I had put so much time and energy into my business/spiritual growth and I had nothing left to give. I was exhausted, burnt out, and felt really directionless. Honestly, it was really uncomfortable going from being a really passionate person to being stuck in a rut over the course of a year.

Now, I’m grateful that it happened because I can relate to others on a whole new level.

This surprises most people because of what I do for work, but I am not a fan of New Year’s resolutions. I don’t know about you, but when I used to set New Year’s resolutions, I would always try to bite off more than I could chew. Not to mention…I’d never accomplish them. Looking back on it, it was because I tried to change too much too soon. When we do that, we set ourselves up for heartbreaking failure and lose confidence in ourselves and our ability to accomplish our goals.

One of the first components to creating your life of Vitality is to define success on your terms (not the terms that everyone else has created for you). This can be tough, because we often have to wade through decades of programming and a lot of other people’s ideas of what success looks like.

When I first started setting goals for myself, a lot of the goals that I had were actually my dad’s goals.

Earlier this year, my health gave out in a big way. All I could do was sleep, my muscles hurt so badly that I couldn’t even do gentle yoga (the thing that kept me grounded), and I was steadily gaining weight, despite eating healthier and moving more regularly than ever before. Looking back on it, I had so many signs my body was going to give out before it happened…but I just kept pushing through.

Have you tried every diet and exercise program out there with no long-term luck? I know I have. Throughout my weight loss journey, I experienced two distinctive things when I would try to lose weight: I’d either plateau after losing some weight and the program would stop working for me OR I’d not be able to keep up with my plan/program because it wasn’t sustainable and required too much from me. Can you relate?

The thing is,

I don’t know about you, but when I first heard of affirmations…I rolled my eyes. It sounded way too pie-in-the-sky to speak things into existence! That’s because creating successful affirmations is more effective if you start smaller in the beginning so you can build your belief. When you know how to use them, they actually work! Here are three tips you can use to start manifesting your desires utilizing affirmations:

Tip #1: Start with something believable –

Can you believe that 2016 is already coming to a close? I don’t know about you, but I was really excited for 2016. Unfortunately, I ended up burning out pretty badly in the beginning of the year and had to spend much of it recovering. It was such a bummer, because I had such high hopes for 2016. Maybe you feel the same way about this year?

Without the help of this ritual that I’m about to share,
